Shane Boatright speaks to Shelby County Chamber of Commerce

Shane Boatright, CEO and President of Boatright Companies spoke to the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce on the subject “Why I Like Railroads and You Should Too.”

Mr. Boatright spoke to a sold out luncheon of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce about his passion for Railroads that began as a child in Hueytown, Alabama. Mr. Boatright began working on the railroads during his college years at the University of Alabama. What he noticed was there was a need for Vegetation Spraying and from this need began his 22 year career in the Railroad business. As Boatright Vegetation Management grew so did Boatright’s dream of owning his own Railroad which led to the purchase of St. Marys Railroad in Georgia. This short line railroad delivers paper products and items from the Kingsland Naval Base such as ballistic missiles.
