Construction updates on Boatright Companies' Chilton County railroad tie plant

9/1/2010

Boatright Companies’ new railroad tie plant in Clanton is currently under construction and will create as many as 75 jobs when the 100-acre plant reaches full production. Cross-ties produced at the plant will be used to build new rail lines or improve existing ones.

CEO of Boatright Companies Shane Boatright said, "I'm looking at this as an investment in community to create jobs as well as an investment in railroads," he said. "I'm putting my money where my mouth is. This is a project that will ultimately help improve the quality of the infrastructure of American railroads."

Boatright said design work is complete on the facility but there is no hard timetable for when it will open. Check out this page often for continuous updates on the plant.
